L1b Compliance

Whether you are changing a non residential building in to a residential dwelling or maybe splitting a large house in to flats or vice versa, you will need to produce SAP Calculations to show that L1b compliance has been achieved.

For an L1b assessment you will need to meet the requirements set out in the Approved L1b document.  We can advise you on what is necessary in order to gain compliance.  We will produce SAP Calculations and a PEA (predicted EPC) at the design stage and then final SAP reports and an EPC will be lodged at the final stage.

L1b Compliance is based on the Approved L1b Building Regulation document. They are assessed slightly differently from new builds as we are not expecting the DER (dwelling emission rate) to be equal to or lower than the TER (target emission rate) as we would be for the new build houses. The upgraded and new elements will need to meet the u-values stipulated in the Approved document.
